EMBA In-Program Mentoring
In-Program Mentoring prepares admitted executives before the first module and works with them through the core courses, connecting accounting, finance, data analysis and strategy to decisions in their own business.
Jeffrey Robinson, CFA, has guided more than 50 executives through the complete arc of their EMBA programs.
Who In-Program Mentoring Is For
In-Program Mentoring is for executives who have accepted a place, or are already in their first year, and want to arrive ready for the quantitative core or keep pace with it while working full time. It suits those whose last formal study of accounting, finance or statistics was many years ago.
How In-Program Mentoring Works
- Pre-program preparation. In the weeks between admission and the first module: algebra and statistics, the logic of financial statements, time value of money, spreadsheet fluency and any pre-program work your school sets.
- Course mentoring. Sessions follow your program's calendar: before a module to prepare, between modules to consolidate and before assessments to test your understanding, across accounting, finance, data analysis, economics, strategy, marketing, operations and leadership.
- Applying the material. Jeffrey draws on his experience in investment banking, fund management and building companies to connect each course to decisions you are already facing.
Your graded work remains your own. Mentoring works on understanding: explaining concepts, working through practice problems and challenging your reasoning, within your program's rules on outside assistance.
What Executives Say
“The work did not end with admission. Jeffrey helped me through the program itself, connecting what I was learning in the classroom to the specific challenges I was managing in our family business. That application of the academic work was worth more than the degree itself.”
